WFP Haiti Country Brief June 2026

Haiti’s humanitarian crisis continued to deteriorate in May in a context increasingly described as a fast-escalating, security-driven emergency. Armed violence intensified across Port-au-Prince, particularly in Cité Soleil, and expanded in Artibonite, disrupting population movements, key supply corridors and humanitarian access. Intensified offensives by armed groups in multiple areas, occurring amid preparations for the deployment of the Gang Suppression Force, heightened insecurity and increased pressure on already vulnerable populations.
