UNICEF Haiti Humanitarian Situation Report No. 2 (Mid – Year), 30 June 2026

A total of 1.5 million people, including 751,000 children are displaced. Some 5.8 million people, or about half of the Haitian population, faced high levels of acute food insecurity. 442 suspected cholera cases were reported, and 9 confirmed cases, including two deaths.
Additionally, 11,550 children were forcibly returned to Haiti during the reporting period.
UNICEF and its partners continued to provide critical life-saving assistance, treating 21,500 children for severe wasting, enabling healthcare access to 198,800 people and providing safe water to 336,400 people. Protection Cluster partners supported the reintegration of 118 children formerly associated with armed groups. UNICEF’s IDP response in sites, including Health/Nutrition, WASH and Protection interventions, covered the needs of about 103,000 IDPs.
With the 2026 Humanitarian Action for Children appeal only 21 per cent funded, urgent support is needed to sustain critical life-saving support.
