Diaspora communities play a decisive role in humanitarian crises, mobilizing resources rapidly,
reaching affected populations through trusted networks, and delivering solutions that are locally
informed and culturally attuned. Yet their contributions remain only partially integrated into formal
humanitarian systems. This paper demonstrates how diaspora engagement, when strategically
supported and coordinated, delivers faster response, stronger localization, and sustainable recovery
outcomes.
